The Backyard Barnabee’s name was inspired from Barn Swallows that have nested at our house for over 6 years. This picture is of the fledglings from the first nest they ever built on top of our security camera. When the adult Swallows were first checking out the nest site, they would make so much noise at night trying to get situated to sleep! To make them more comfortable, I put up a little chain which they immediately used and then we barely heard them. Once their babies hatched and eventually fledged, everyone would come back to sleep every night until their migration in the Fall!
